It's no secret, we are OBSESSED with Instagram, and we're not alone on this one. Millions have flocked to this behemoth instant sharing platform and have garnered thousands and sometimes millions of followers since it's inception. Throughout the time we've used our own account, we've come across several personalities that have us completely mesmerized. One of them in specific, Camila Torres.
Her signature jet black hair and flawless cat eye look has many of us wondering what she's like. We reached out to this total insta babe for a personal interview on what she's like, what she's into, and how she curates those perfect shots.
Describe yourself in 3 words:
CT: Happy, Spontaneous, Ambitious.
Your blog and insta handle go by the name of Gambitsky. Where did this name originate?
CT: The Name Gambitsky was my gamer name back in the day. After a while of playing games with my friends they also started to call me by that name. So now i use Gambitsky in all my social media channels because it's a really close name to me and my personality.
So now that we know the secret behind your name, tell us about working in PR and a typical day for you.
CT: A day for me? That is a tricky question, because I do different things every day. However a "normal" day would consist of spending my mornings at the clothing agency I work for - I take pictures for their brand called M.A.M.B OSLO and also for my blog. I get to meet different people that work in the fashion industry here in Norway and also from other parts of the world. After the agency, I'll have meetings about my blog or I'll just blog for the rest of the day.
I also work at one of the most exclusive shopping centers in Oslo. Where I sell clothes of Scandinavian brands such as ACNE, BLK DNM, J.LINDEBERG, HUNKYDOR, and also other international brands such as MULBERRY, MICHAEL KORS, ALEXANDER McQUEEN etc. Here is where I learn the most about different brands and also how to work with customers interested in fashion. I help them by styling them with what I think looks the best on them.
What's something people may or may not know about you?
CT: Well, what people may not know is that during the winter, I love to eat chocolates in bed and I also talk to myself when I'm confused.
Everyone is always commenting on your beautiful hair! What's your secret?
CT: Well, I usually use olive oil when my hair is dry. Just put 3 drops into your palms, warm it up, put it into your hair and braid it before nighttime. Wash your hair the next day with your favorite shampoo and conditioner and voila! Soft and happy hair! :)
Tell us a little about your background, you're Spanish and live in Norway, what's it like?
CT: I'm actually born and raised in Colombia. I moved to Sweden first and learned Swedish, after that I moved to Norway. It's not a big difference, I love living here - my best friends live here as well, and the Norwegians are very sweet people.
What's the one tech gadget or accessory you can't live without?
CT: Uhm that would be my phone! I can pretty much do everything from it, from work and private related. And also listen to music! haha I need music in my days! :)
Tell us how you get those gorg insta pics! What photo editing app(s) do you use?
CT: I LOVE vscocam, and I also use Afterlight sometimes to do different effects on the pictures.
Goals you'd love to achieve in the near future?
CT: I would like to have a brand of my own.
I always say you can learn a lot about a person by their taste in music, what's your favorite song set on repeat at the moment?
CT: Right now, uhmmm... That would be Pop Thieves from Childish Gambino. He is amazing!
If I opened your closet, what would I find?
CT: A lot of black clothes!
Advice to others wanting to work in the fashion industry?
CT: Don't give up! The fashion industry is difficult and very special. So put your best smile forward and make your dreams come true!
